🔗 Share this article No McKenna Celtic Talks as Craig Bellamy Pledges to Welsh National Team Kieran McKenna and Craig Bellamy have been connected with the Scottish champions manager position Ipswich Town's their manager says he has had "no conversations" with Celtic about their coaching position, while Welsh head coach Craig Bellamy is committed to completing his team's international campaign. Both are being considered with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's departure on the start of the week. The Manager's Position on Celtic McKenna described Celtic as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side. "I have not had such discussions," the English capital native ex- Irish youth international said when asked about being on the candidate list. "This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any part of my focus is this week. "I have a unique position here at a special team. And we're at a crucial stage of the campaign. Anything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness." Background and Contractual Aspects Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to Celtic given his childhood support. "Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about these. "I don't think all people has to go around and declare what they used to be, but of course it's a really big sports organization." The coach agreed to a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was questioned about his alleged £5m release clause. "In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you regardless! "I approach this role like I'll be Town's coach indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I remain in position." The Welsh Coach's Situation Bellamy represented the Hoops on loan from the Magpies in 2005, but the former Welsh striker is minded to finish the current global tournament qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from immediately taking the Glasgow position. The Welsh squad are presently third in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up North Macedonia. Victories over the minnows and their rivals in November would secure their position in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually assured of reaching that stage, due to a successful Nations League campaign, should they not end up Group J second place.
